Welcome

Welcome to the home of the Krugersdorp Community Police Forum
The Gauteng Province: Department of Community Safety, have released the following reference manual as an excellent guideline as to what the CPF is all about - A must read for any persons interested in becoming involved.
The download is in PDF format and is slightly large (about 4Mb) and may take a few moments to download on slower connections
The Aim of the CPF is to ensure that the area is safe for all
Sector policing is an approach to policing whereby the service area of a police station is divided into smaller, manageable areas known as sectors. For each sector, the SAPS appoints a police official who is known as the sector commander.
The community and its sector commander are active partners in ensuring local safety and security.

The Objectives of the CPF :
- To proactively raise awareness and prevent crime in the area
- To create a safer neighbourhood for residents
- Improve communication of crime related incidents within the area
- To do whatevere we can as a community to prevent crime and assist the SAPS
- Patrol the area on a regular basis
- To have all members of the community in the area involved
We as a community, need to work together to reduce and eradicate crime in our area
The sector commander involves all role-players in
- identifying the policing needs in the sector; and
- dealing with the root causes of crime and factors that contribute to crime.
The ultimate goal is to bring about effective crime prevention by launching intelligence-driven crime-prevention projects in partnership with the local community.
.
A major objective of community policing is to establish an active partnership between the Police and the Community through which crime, service delivery and police-community relations can jointly be analysed and appropriate solutions designed and implemented. This however requires that the Police should consciously strive to create an atmosphere in which potential community partners are willing and able to co-operate with the Police.
Together we can make a difference!
